ABOUT ABOUT

In 2011 Art of Elan launched a downtown series as a "crossfire" of musical and creative ideas with innovative performances taking place at The Glashaus, Luce Loft, Moniker Warehouse and other urban venues. This October, Grammy-nominated flutist, composer, and vocalist Nathalie Joachim makes her San Diego debut in a CROSSFIRE performance that combines classical, folk, and popular music.

The eighty-minute program, titled “Fanm d’Ayiti” (Women of Haiti), is a celebration of some of Haiti’s most iconic yet under-recognized female artists, as well as an exploration of Joachim’s Haitian heritage, featuring original songs that incorporate recorded voices and recorded interviews with some of the greatest known female voices in Haitian history.

This is a rare opportunity to see this rising star perform her Grammy-nominated program in collaboration with Art of Elan musicians Kate Hatmaker, Wesley Precourt, Hanah Stuart and Alex Greenbaum in a stunning new Little Italy venue.

Doors and Bar open at 6pm with wood-fired pizzas available to order from Cucina Caprese. Performance begins at 7:00pm.
